Alböke, Öland — Öland's first floating solar installation
Solar power on the irrigation pond at Alböke Gård
Alböke Gård sits in Alböke parish on northern Öland — and now hosts Öland's first floating solar installation. During 2026, Sunsurf Solar is commissioning a 51.8 kWp PowerModule™ system on the farm's irrigation pond — 24 units and 72 bifacial panels producing local clean electricity directly on the water surface, without taking up farmland. Last updated: 24 April 2026.

Local clean power for a working farm
The system has 24 PowerModule™ units and 72 bifacial panels with a total capacity of 51.8 kWp. It produces electricity right at the farm and covers part of its energy demand — from the dairy operation to the venue spaces rented out for events.
The bifacial panels capture both direct sunlight and light reflected off the pond surface, lifting yield compared to a similar ground-mounted installation.

Built for Öland conditions
The installation is anchored with Sunsurf Solar's patented FlexibleMooringSystem™, which absorbs seasonal variations in water level — particularly useful on an irrigation pond.
Alböke Gård gets a local energy source for day-to-day operations without touching pasture or arable land — a visible example of how Öland farms can pair food production with clean generation on water surfaces that would otherwise sit unused.
